Rihanna, Eminem and Arctic Monkeys perform together at V Festival 2011: The V Festival today announced part of its 2011 line-up ahead of tickets going on sale this Friday. The two-day event, held at two sites in Staffordshire and Essex, will feature Eminem and Arctic Monkeys as the main stage headliners on each night. Barbadian singer Rihanna will support the rapper, while Brit Award winner Plan B will be second on the bill on the night Arctic Monkeys headline.
The announcement confirmed that American stars Eminem and Rihanna would play Weston Park, Staffordshire, on Saturday 20th August and Hylands Park, Essex, on Sunday 21st August. With the pair on the bill, fans attending the event are virtually promised a complete live version of Eminem’s recent hit ‘Love the Way You Lie’, which featured the singer’s vocals.
The pair will be swapping venues with Arctic Monkeys and Plan B, who headline Hylands Park on Saturday 20th August and Weston Park on Sunday 21st August.
Plan B and Rihanna will not be the only 2011 Brit Awards winners to perform at this year’s event – both Tinie Tempah and Jessie J have been confirmed for the event. Primal Scream will perform their acclaimed album Screamadelica at the August festival, and are among a host of other acts including Manic Street Preachers, Pendulum, Dizzee Rascal, Kaiser Chiefs and The Script.
The other acts announced were Bellowhead, Big Audio Dynamite, Bruno Mars, Cast, Chase & Status, Clare Maguire, Duran Duran, Eliza Doolittle, Ellie Goulding, Example, Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Glasvegas, Hurts, Imelda May, Katy B, Kele Okereke, KT Tunstall, Mark Ronson, N-Dubz, Ocean Colour Scene, Olly Murs, Razorlight, Scouting For Girls, Squeeze, The Courteeners, The Saturdays, The Wombats, Wiz Khalifa, and You Me At Six.
More acts are due to be announced over four stages, including a new comedy stage, over coming weeks and months. Tickets go on sale on 4th March at 9am and are priced at £174 for weekend with camping and £149 without camping. Day tickets are £83.50 and campervan passes are £99. Festival-goers can also opt for V Style luxury camping in ready-built yurts and pop-up hotel rooms.
